How Hometown Helps

Hometown helps you get paid to care for your loved ones

For years, Texas Medicaid has helped people get paid to care for their loved ones. Here's how it works.

The CDS Program

Under Medicaid, the CDS (Consumer Directed Services) option allows individuals to select a trusted person (a family member, neighbor, spouse) as their in-home healthcare provider and get paid for it.

The catch: Texas requires a business entity to employ the loved one, do payroll, taxes, state paperwork and timesheets in order for them to get paid for the care they provide. Texas allows partners called FMSAs to handle this work for you. And that's how Hometown helps! It costs your family nothing; Medicaid pays us directly.
